הקול הקורא מיועד למעוניינים בהצבת תיבת אימוץ שתשמש כבית לנחיל דבורים להשתכן בו.

מה כוללת ההשתתפות בפרויקט?

• ליווי והדרכה מטעם קהילת אוהבי הדבורים בירושלים.
• ההדרכה תתקיים במרכז לדבוראות עירונית בתאריך שיפורסם בהמשך. (במידה ותנאי הקורונה לא יאפשרו התכנסות תועבר ההדרכה בזום).
• אחריות המשתתפים היא להציב את הארגז, לשמור עליו, לחדש את הפיתיון מזמן לזמן, לבדוק האם התנחל בו נחיל על בסיס יומי, לדווח  כאשר מתנחל בו נחיל, להחזיר את הארגז למרכז החלוקה בתום התקופה.

הנחילים יועברו למקום בטוח או יישארו במקומם, בהתאם לרצון התושבים.
*** שימו לב: לא בכל המקומות יתאפשר להשאיר את הנחיל לחיות באופן קבוע לאחר ההתנחלות בו, הדבר תלוי בגורמים רבים. נחיל שלא נתן להשאירו במקום יועבר למקום אחר.

על הפרויקט:
באביב מתחדש הטבע על שלל מימדיו – הגוזלים והאפרוחים בוקעים מהביצים, נקבות היונקים ממליטות, הזוחלים והדו-חיים מושרצים ובוקעים מהביצים, הפרחים פורחים ונחילים צעירים נולדים מנחילי הדבורים הוותיקים.
זו דרכם של האורגניזמים בטבע להתרבות ולהפיץ את עצמם בעולם וכך גם הדבורים. נחילי הדבורים שנולדים באביב מנחילים ותיקים מחפשים את מקומם להתחיל בהם חיים חדשים.

שלב ההתנחלות כמו כל לידה הוא שלב עדין בו הנחיל רך, פגיע ומתחיל לבנות את חייו מבראשית כמעט. בטבע הם ינחלו בחללים בגזעי עצים, במערות ובכוכים.
באזורים המיושבים הם יכולים להתנחל במקומות שמפריעים לאדם כגון ארגזי תריס, קירות של מבנים, מזגנים, ארונות חשמל ועוד.
בעבר נהגו הרשויות להדביר את הנחילים אך ככל שהמודעות להצלת הדבורים אנו פועלים להגן להצילם.

הצלה של נחיל שהתנחל במקום המפריע לאדם יכולה לקחת משאבי זמן רבים לעירייה ולמתנדבים, לעלות כסף ואף לפגוע בנחיל הדבורים עצמו.
בכדי להקל על נחילי הדבורים ובכדי להקטין את הצורך בנזקים לנחיל ולאדם הקמנו את בקהילת אוהבי הדבורים בירושלים את יוזמת אימוץ הנחילים. בתקופת האביב הקרוב נציב בעיר ירושלים מספר מצומצם של ארגזי התנחלות בהם נשים פיתיון בתקווה שבארגזים אלו יתנחלו הנחילים במקום במקומות שמפריעים לתושבים. הפעילות תעשה בשיתוף הציבור בעיר.

קהילת אוהבי הדבורים בירושלים:
אנחנו אזרחים מרקעים וממקצועות מגוונים, אוהבי דבורים שהתאגדנו בירושלים. המכנה המשותף שלנו הוא אהבתנו לנחילי דבורים ואנו מוכנים לפעול להצלתם ולרווחתם בעולם.
הקהילה פועלת מהמרכז לדבוראות עירונית פרופוליס אשר במרפסת מוסללה שבבניין כלל ואנו פעילים בכל רחבי העיר. מתנדבי הקהילה הצילו בשנים האחרונות עשרות נחילים ברחבי העיר בהתנדבות מלאה ובסיוע העירייה. אם תבחרו להיות חלק מהמאמץ להצלת הדבורים, להתנדב במיזם ולהציב ארגז התנחלות אצלכם, אנו נודה לכם על כך מאוד ובטוחים שתתרמו מכך מאוד מהמפגש  עם הדבורים.

Public Appeal for the Placement of Adoption Crates for Swarms of Bees

We are inviting you to join the Jerusalem bee-loving community and place crates for new swarms of bees.

This public appeal is intended for those who are interested in placing a crate that will be used as a home for a swarm of bees.

What does participation in this project include?

• Guidance and instruction from the Jerusalem bee-loving community.
• The training will take place in the urban bee center on a date that will be published later. (In the case that Coronavirus regulations do not allow the gathering, the instruction will be given on Zoom.)
• The responsibility of participants is to place the crate, watch over it, renew the bait from time to time, check if a swarm has settled in it on a daily basis, report when a swarm has settled in it, and return the crate at the end of the period.
• The swarms will be transferred to a safe place or will remain in place according to the wishes of the residents.

***Please note: Not all places will be allowed to leave the swarm to live regularly after they settle there, it is dependent on many factors. A swarm that is not permitted to remain in place will be transferred to a different location.

About the Project: In Spring, nature resumes in its many dimensions- the chicks hatch from eggs, female mammals give birth, reptiles are induced and hatch from eggs, flowers bloom, and young swarms of bees are born from older ones. It’s the way organisms in nature reproduce and spread themselves around the world, and the same goes for the bees. Swarms of bees born in the spring from older swarms are looking for their place to start a new life.

The settlement phase, like any birth, is a delicate stage in which the swarm is soft and begins to build its life from almost the beginning. In the wild, they reside in tree trunks, caves and. In populated areas, they can settle in places that disturb people, such as shutter crates, walls of buildings, air conditioning, electrical cabinets, and more. In the past, the authorities used to exterminate the swarms, but as the awareness of Save the Bees is raised, we are working to protect them.

Rescuing a swarm that has settled in a place that disturbs a person can take a lot of time for the municipality and volunteers, cost a lot of money, and even harm the swarm of bees.

In order to alleviate the swarms of bees and to reduce the need for damage to the swarm and people, we established the Jerusalem bee-loving community as the initiator of the adoption of swarms.

During this upcoming spring, we will place a limited number of settlement crates in Jerusalem with women bait in the hopes that the swarms will settle in the crates instead of in places that will disturb residents. The activity will be carried out in cooperation with the city public.

Jerusalem Bee Loving Community: We are citizens from diverse backgrounds and professions, who love bees that we have incorporated in Jerusalem. Our common denominator is our love for bees and we are ready to work to save them and their well-being in the world.

The community operates from the Propolis Urban Bee Center, which is on the Muslala rooftop in the Clal building, and we’re active all over the city. In recent years, community volunteers have rescued dozens of swarms throughout the city with the help of the municipality. If you choose to be part of the effort to save the bees, volunteer in the project and set up a settlement crate, we will be grateful and are sure that you will contribute greatly from this encounter with the bees.
