The Terrace: An Urban Oasis
In the heart of Jerusalem, the Terrace was first opened to the public at the end of May 2016 and is the new home of the Muslala Group. Located at the top of the spiral steps in the center of Klal, the Terrace spreads over 285 square meters indoors and 1650 square meters outdoors.
The space connects art, environmental awareness, and sustainable thinking. This combination creates a unique green roof, a space for research, and a creative play space for public use in art, sustainability, and community. The heart of the Terrace is a multi-purpose area designed for entertainment, meetings and events. Alongside it are several centers led by members of the Muslala community. Each center offers a variety of courses, workshops, and lectures. The public area has a balcony, gallery, kitchen, sitting area, electricity, and wireless internet.
The Terrace is open to the public from Sunday to Thursday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Muslala also works on a large number of art installations inside and outside the building. The intent is to strengthen the existing areas in a way that renews them creatively.
We aim that with the help of the Terrace, Klal will become a center of art, culture, and sustainability. We want to create a welcoming and renewed space that will attract as many visitors as possible. The Terrace complex was established in cooperation with the management and maintenance company Mikdan and in cooperation with the business owners in the building.

האירוע מתקיים השנה בצל מלחמה, בצל אסון מתמשך שממאן להרפות, ואנחנו מולו מבקשים לפעור סדק ולהציע אפשרויות של ריפוי, מתוך אמונה שבגגות טמון מרחב ריפוי שהעיר זקוקה לו. השטחים שעד מזמן עמדו שוממים הופכים לשכבה חדשה של חיים שוקקים, כמעט יש מאין. ומה שהיה צלקת של ביטומן עד לא מזמן – היום הוא נווה גג פורח. תחת כיפת השמיים והכוכבים נתכנס מדי ערב לדמיין ולחוות את האפשרות שהשנה החדשה שתתחיל תהיה שונה מקודמתה, סולחת, חומלת.

Hosting & Renting the Terrace
Each of the spaces can be adapted to the needs of the event and the group— all of our furniture stands on wheels so that the Terrace can be reorganized into a variety of formations, depending on the needs of the event.
At your disposal is a coffee and tea corner on the roof of the Terrace and a dairy/vegetarian kitchenette equipped with serving dishes of all kinds. We provide chairs and benches, a screen and projector, a professional sound system, and a lighting system for shows.
- the Terrace is a sustainable space— we try to avoid using disposable plastic utensils whenever possible (only in exceptional cases do we permit the use of disposable tools).
- Weather: The Terrace is connected to its surroundings, natural landscape, and changing climate; summer heat and winter cold affect the space for better or for worse. In order to regulate the temperature, a heating system is installed, as well as a variety of fans to keep the space comfortable.
We built the Terrace with our own hands— with lots of love and attention to even the smallest details— and you can feel it. Since 2016, thousands of people, groups, and individuals have come to the terrace to get inspiration; to create, meet, and absorb the spirit of the place, or simply to enjoy the Jerusalem atmosphere and clear mountain air.
You can rent one section or the entire Terrace area for private events, lectures, workshops and meetings of all kinds.
Our spaces are suitable for groups of different sizes: the Center, the Library, and the Giving Tree (a magnificent structure and architectural feat found at the far end of the Terrace, the Giving Tree is constructed from repurposed wood, offering an unparalleled experience to all who step inside).
We look forward to welcoming you and your guests, and to working together to make your event as extraordinary as the space it’s in!
Spaces of the Terrace
For large events: up to 140
The Core: a multi-purpose space. Perfect for conferences, shows of all kinds, film screenings, and more, the Core is equipped with an amplification and lighting system. Can be divided into smaller spaces with curtains or our portable “earth walls”.
For groups: up to 30
The Library: an intimate space for groups of up to 30 people. Features views of the Terrace and the exit to Gag Eden. A screen and sound system can be included for film screenings, if necessary. Portable “earth walls” allow for insulation.
For groups: up to 25
The Giving Tree: a wooden structure that stands a full 8 meters– a generous, shaded, and intimate space. Suitable for lectures and group conversation while seated in a circle. Seats up to 25 people.
The Giving Tree is the work of artist Noam Toledano and was first debuted at the 2017 Midburn Festival.

FAQ
The Terrace is located on the roof of the Clal Building on 97 Jaffa Street. A short distance from the “Davidka” light rail station or from the Shuk (market). Come to the Clal building, walk inside and go up the inner spiral staircases to the top floor. Click here for a map.
The Terrace’s operating hours are Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 to 18:00. You can go up to the Terrace, use the coffee corner and the Wi-Fi.

There is a kitchenette with a coffee and tea corner of the Terrace. You can use our bowls and silverware, just remember to wash whatever you use afterwards. The space is dairy/vegetarian, so no meat or fish are permitted.
